Am 09. Mai 2015 eröffnet die 6. Schweizerische Triennale der
Skulptur, genannt Bad RagARTz. Eine Gruppe von 100 Stelen
aus der Werkreihe DELEGATION wird zu sehen sein.
Alle drei Jahre öffnen Esther und Rolf Hohmeister die Tore der
Ausstellung. Aus einer Vielzahl von Bewerbungen werden nur
80 Künstler aus der ganzen Welt ausgewählt.
Die Bad RagARTz ist eine international beachtete Ausstellung,
die im Jahr 2012 eine unglaubliche Anzahl von 400.000 Be-
sucher zählte. „Das Ziel ist, aus der Kunst bleibende Werte zu
formen in einer Welt, in der Wertewandel und die Vernichtung
von Werten schneller voranschreitet denn je“.
Die DELEGATION von Günter Schmidt-Klör will Entschlossenheit,
Würde und Zuversicht darstellen. Die Betrachter sollen Neues
entdecken und Altbewährtes wiederfinden.
On May 9th 2015 the 6th Swiss Triennale of Sculpture, called
Bad RagARTz opens. A group of 100 steles from DELEGATION
will be shown.
Every three years Esther and Rolf Hohmeister open the doors
of the exhibition. From a variety of applications only 80 artists
from around the world are selected.
The Bad RagARTz is an internationally acclaimed exhibition,
which had an unbelieveable number of 400.000 visitors in
2012. „The goal is to form remaining values from art in a wor-
ld, where values are changing and values are destroyed faster
than ever“.
DELEGATION from Günter Schmidt-Klör will represent determi-
nation, dignity and confidence. The viewers are supposed to
discover new things and rediscover the tried and trusted.

GRUPPE
DELEGATION
Bekanntlich ist das Ganze mehr als die Summe seiner Teile. Al-
les menschliche Handeln, alle Erfolge sind das Werk einer Ge-
meinschaft. Der Einzelne würde sich verlieren, gäbe es kein Zu-
sammenspiel. Die Vergangenheit wirkt in jedem und formt über
die Zeitachse eine große Gruppe.
Auch die Figuren der DELEGATION sind Teile eines großen Gan-
zen. Dicht nebeneinander ragen sie empor. Die schlanken Kör-
per verschmelzen zu einem Block. Der Betrachter spürt die Ent-
schlossenheit der Gruppe.
Geradezu stoisch verharren die Mitglieder der DELEGATION. Die
Materialien Beton, Stahl und Aluminium überdauern und trotzen
allen Widerständen. Kühn und kraftvoll.
Obgleich der DELEGATION nichts Martialisches anhaftet, könn-
ten es Krieger sein, die für ein gemeinschaftliches Ziel eintre-
ten.
Je mehr Stelen angeordnet werden, desto größer ist die Wucht.
Es wächst eine Kraft, die man zu sehen meint. Die Gruppe blickt
auf ihre Betrachter, tritt in einen stillen Austausch und verän-
dert durch das Jetzt.

It is a well-known fact that the whole is more than the sum of
its parts. Every human action, all the successes are the achie-
vement of a community. Without interaction the individual
would be lost. The past has its effects on each and every one
of us, creating a large community over time.
The characters in DELEGATION are part of an ensemble, too,
towering up side by side. The slim bodies appear to merge into
one block. The beholder can feel the determination of the en-
tire group.
The members of DELEGATION literally poise stoically. The ma-
terials concrete, steel and aluminium survive and defy all re-
sistance. Boldly and vigorously.
There may be nothing martial to DELEGATION; and yet they
could very well be warriors fighting for a common cause.
The more steles are placed together, the more powerful the
momentum becomes. An almost visible power grows. The en-
semble looks down on the beholder, enters into silent commu-
nication and changes through the present.

Ein Blick in die Bildhauerwerkstatt zeigt die neuen Stelen frisch
nach ihrem Verguss. Alle Schalbretter wurden gerade entfernt.
Bereits jetzt entfalten die Figuren eine erste Magie. Trotz der
noch rohen und unbehandelten Oberflächen und den Resten
von Schutzfolie blicken sie entschlossen voraus.
Jede einzelne Stele wird von Hand noch aufwendig nachgearbei-
tet. Die Aluminium-Masken werden von Betonresten befreit, die
Oberflächen gereinigt und die massiven Stahlplatten gebürstet.

after grouting. All forms have just been removed.
Even now the figures begin to unfold their magic. Despite their
rough and untreated surfaces and the remains of the protecti-
ve foil, they look ahead resolutely.
Every single stele is elaborately reworked by hand. The alu-
minium masks are freed from residual concrete, the surfaces
cleaned and the solid steel plates brushed.

Two members of DELEGATION stand tall in the twilight of the
old stock of trees.
A property where careful hands have been at work, leaving na-
ture to unfold itself freely. It was very important to the home
owner that the building be integrated into the landscape.
The front of the characters bearing the faces looks towards
the entrance of the property. Visitors approaching the house
pass by the steles. A silent dialogue takes place. Together, the
house, garden and DELEGATION form a whole.
Im Zwielicht des alten Baumbestands ragen zwei Mitglieder der
DELEGATION empor.
Ein Grundstück, in dem mit Bedacht Hand angelegt wurde - ein
Stück Natur, das sich frei entfalten kann. Dem Bauherrn war die
Einbindung des Gebäudes in die Landschaft wichtig.
Die Fronten der Figuren mit den Gesichtern sind dem Eingang
des Grundstücks zugewandt. Auf dem Weg zum Haus gehen
die Besucher an den Stelen vorüber. Es findet ein stiller Dialog
statt. Haus, Garten und DELEGATION bilden eine Einheit.

BAUPROJEKT
Über dem Ross, als Pferdekopf sichtbar gemacht, sitzt der Rei-
ter und blickt nach vorne. An der Seite ein langer Speer.
Eine Auftragsarbeit für ein großes Bauprojekt in der Mongolei.
Mensch, Tier und die Materialen bilden eine geschlossene Ein-
heit.
Fest ruht die Stele aus Beton und Aluminium in sich selbst. Eine
Präsenz von sanfter Gewalt. Die Vergangenheit gemeistert und
mit ungetrübtem Blick auf das, was noch kommt, bildet die Ste-
le ein Mahnmal für die Gegenwart.

golia. Human, animal and materials form a coherent unit.
The stele made of concrete and aluminium is at one with itself.
The presence of gentle power. Having mastered the past and
with a clear view for whatever lies ahead, the stele is a monu-
ment to the present.

An archaic portal as an impressive sculpture in a landscape. As
an great element in gardens, parks or in public spaces.
The opening of the portal opens new views on things. It appe-
ars as if new paths open up.
Ein archaisches Tor als beeindruckende Skulptur in der Land-
schaft. Als Element im Garten, im Park oder im öffentlichen
Raum.
Die Öffnung des Tors lässt neue Blicke auf die Dinge entstehen.

or office complex. The portal opens the space behind it to all
visitors and guests.

light. The surface comes to life.
